Port Forwarding Configuration

 

In Poland, port forwarding lets you expose a cloud desktop’s ports to the local network or the internet. It’s commonly paired with Remote Desktop Protocol. 

This feature works for DaDesktop Course machines (requires a private server), DaDesktop For Work, and Standalone machines. Please note, the interface may look slightly different depending on the machine type.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Go to ‘Advanced’ and choose ‘Port Forwarding’.

Port forwarding can be set up with automatic or manual allocation. Automatic allocation uses the next available server port. This is usually the easiest option, but manual allocation lets you pick each external port from the range 10000–65500 if needed. Any previously added manual forwards are kept and can be edited later.

Manual Allocation

This example demonstrates forwarding port 11122 for both TCP and UDP to the cloud desktop VM’s port 22 (SSH). You can select different TCP and UDP ports if necessary.

Windows RDP Example

This example uses the original manual allocation method, though automatic allocation works just as well.

1. Find your DaDesktop desktop, click Port forwarding, configure your TCP ports for remote connection—your external port number followed by 3389 (e.g., 66666:3389). Remember your port number; if you forget, simply open Port forwarding again to check.

2. Submit the settings and set a password inside your Windows DD machine, then click “Enable Remote Desktop.”

3. From your local Windows device, open Remote Desktop and enter the server name plus the TCP port (e.g., zh4cn.npg.io:xxxxx). In ‘Show options,’ you can also choose the remote desktop window’s resolution.

3.1 To log into your DaDesktop remote desktop, you must first reset your username and password inside the machine.

Then connect to the remote desktop.

 

4. You’ll now have a remote desktop using the DD template and your device’s sound card; you can also copy-paste or output documents easily (the small window on the left shows the DD remote desktop with audio).
